This homemade Garlic Texas Toast recipe is so simple to make and is perfect as a side for your favorite Italian dishes. It’s crispy, full of garlic, and buttery goodness using only your toaster.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  1. 1 loaf of thick-cut, crusty white bread
  2. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  3. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  5. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine room-temperature butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt in a bowl. Mix until well blended.
  2. Cut the crusty bread into thick slices.
  3. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture onto one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Place the bread butter side up in the toaster oven on a medium-high setting, or if you’re using a pop-up toaster, you might want to toast the bread first then spread the garlic butter on the hot toast to melt.
  5. Toast until the butter is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can adjust the amount of garlic to your preference. The bread can also be toasted on a grill or under a broiler if you prefer a more charred flavor.
