Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of white or whole wheat bread
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons jelly or jam of your choice
- 1 sandwich sealer and decruster tool (optional)
- Butter for toasting (optional)
Instructions
- Lay out your slices of bread.
- Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter on two of the slices, making sure to leave a border around the edge for sealing.
- Spread a tablespoon of jelly or jam on the other two slices, also leaving a border around the edge.
- Sandwich the slices together: one peanut butter slice with one jelly slice.
- If you have a sandwich sealer and decruster tool, use it to seal the edges of the sandwiches and remove the crusts. If you don’t, press the edges of the sandwiches together with a fork to seal, and then cut off the crusts with a knife.
- Lightly butter the outside of each sandwich (optional step for extra crunch and flavor).
- Toast the sandwiches in a toaster or toaster oven until golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool for a minute or two before serving, as the filling will be hot.
Notes
- You can switch out the peanut butter and jelly for other fillings like Nutella, cream cheese and jam, or ham and cheese.
- Be careful when eating as the filling may be hot right after toasting.
