Cooking a frozen bagel in a frying pan is an easy and convenient method that results in a toasty, crispy exterior with a soft, warm interior. Perfect for those who don’t have a toaster or are looking for a quick breakfast option!

  • Total Time: 12 min
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 Frozen Bagel
  2. 12 tablespoons of Butter or Olive Oil
  3. Optional: Cream Cheese, Butter, or your preferred Bagel toppings

Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Cut the frozen bagel in half horizontally.
  3. Add butter or olive oil to the pan and let it melt.
  4. Place the bagel halves, cut side down, in the pan.
  5. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cut side is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Turn the bagel halves over and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they’re heated through.
  7. Remove from the pan and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

  1. Be careful not to have the heat too high, or you may risk burning the bagel before it’s heated through.
  2. You can cover the pan with a lid to help the bagel heat through more evenly.
