Scale
- 4 jalapenos
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 8 slices of your favorite bread
- Butter, as needed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the jalapenos on a baking sheet and roast for about 15-20 minutes, until they are charred and softened.
- Allow the jalapenos to cool, then chop them finely.
- In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Butter one side of each bread slice. Spread a generous amount of the cheese and jalapeno mixture on the non-buttered side of 4 slices, then top with the remaining slices, buttered side up.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each sandwich until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of jalapenos to your preferred spice level.
- You can use any type of bread, but a sturdy one like sourdough holds up best.
