- 4 slices of bread
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Oven method:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using) until well combined.
- Spread the cinnamon butter mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Place the bread slices, butter side up, on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the cinnamon sugar has melted.
- Allow the toast to cool slightly before serving.
Stovetop method:
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using) until well combined.
- Spread the cinnamon butter mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the bread slices, butter side down, onto the heated skillet or griddle.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the cinnamon sugar has melted.
- Carefully flip the bread slices and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Remove the toast from heat and serve immediately.
Notes
- This recipe can easily be doubled or halved to accommodate your needs.
- You can also use a broiler for a crispier cinnamon toast. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
